In every generation people move en mass to new and foreign lands, what we call immigration. No doubt, Australia is the top destination today, just as the United States was right after WWII. The reasons for immigrating to Australia may be the desire to earn more, or just to have a higher standard of living. Even if you are located on the top floor of a tall building with no elevator, as long as the planning is meticulous, you move will go smoothly. Since nothing can be overlooked, no quote can be exact if the site to be shipped is not inspected personally. After all, it is personal items and belongings that need to shipping to Australia. No one expects to suddenly having to leave something behind because the move wasn’t planned correctly. The mover should have a list prepared which includes all the items you are shipping to Australia and what the exact price of the move will be.
Take advantage of sites and business that have long standing relationships with reputable shippers. Many times these businesses create strong work procedures with reliable shippers and the customer can benefit with a reduced price due to this efficiency. "Credit Miracle Worker" Found At Winston-Salem, NC Used Car Dealership

PRLog (Press Release) – Sep 21, 2009 – After being hailed as a “credit miracle worker” by many and as “too good to be legal” by others, Rich Little of Frank Myers Auto Maxx , the premier used car dealer in Winston-Salem, agrees to settle the case once and for all by taking a sworn oath in front of an audience of 24.
“I hereby certify that our credit policy is completely legal and involves no form of supernatural intervention,” said Rich during his oath.
Last month Rich and his team were able to secure financing for 76 new customers, most of whom had been turned down time and time again in the past.
“Listen...I don’t care what other car dealers say. I know our customers - and I know they will pay, even if they’ve had problems in the past,” explains Rich. “Tracy Myers, the owner of Frank Myers Auto, has spent a lot of time and a lot of money building solid relationships with banks and lenders who are committed to approving our customers. I trust our customers and the banks trust me...that’s all there is to it.”
So what kind of credit problems has Rich Little been able to deal with? When asked, he proudly rattled off a list including bankruptcy, medical bills, charge offs, late payments, divorces, student loan problems, IRS demands, repossessions, and more.
Keith Bowman, Sales Director, and Rich's right hand man explains, “It’s not our business to judge other people. We all make mistakes. That doesn’t mean we won’t do the right thing when
given another chance. Like the Bible says, ‘Let he without sin cast the first stone.’”
Helping people get approved isn’t the only thing Rich and his team do well. The hundreds of letters of happy past customers that line the wall of the dealership tell a story of a car buying experience like none other.
“In my mind, buying a car should be fun and easy. It shouldn’t be a terrifying experience like it is for most people. So we always make a big family environment here. We have family friendly movies playing on the wide screen tv, free popcorn, cold soda and hot gourmet coffee...anything that can help people relax and have a good time. Because that’s what we are - we’re a family. Many of our customers have bought cars from us 3 or 4 times in the past,” tells Rich.
“Are we miracle workers? Can we help everybody? Almost. There’s no magic. We get people approved because we work hard and they work hard. If a person has a job and can put together a few hundred dollars to show their commitment to the bank, we can usually get them approved. But if you don’t have the initiative to get and keep a job, we can’t help you. You gotta help yourself before we can,” Rich continued.
If you’re interested in finding out if Rich and his team can help you, call Frank Myers Auto Maxx at 336-767-3432 and ask to speak with Keith. Keith will get some basic information from you over the phone then schedule an appointment.
“You can be in and out in less than an hour in many cases,” promised Keith. “So don’t be afraid to call for any reason - we live to help people just like you."

14 New Smart Crosswalk™ Systems Installed At Hobby Airport

PRLog (Press Release) – Sep 21, 2009 – Santa Rosa, CA,   Installation of fourteen In-Roadway Warning Light (IRWL) systems was recently completed at the Hobby Airport in Houston.  These illuminated pedestrian crosswalks, which are located in front of the airport terminal in the parking garage, will enhance the safety of air travelers and the general public when entering or leaving the terminal area.
The Smart Crosswalk™ system designed and patented by LightGuard Systems® of Santa Rosa, CA, provides  a 24/7 pedestrian safeguard. The inventor and CEO, Mike Harrison, was a commercial pilot who derived the concept from airport runway lights.
Hobby Airport officials see these devices as an ideal traffic calming measure for the parking garage area. They note that the in-pavement signal lights are especially helpful aiding daytime traffic flow from the bright outdoors into the dimmer parking area.
Hobby Airport Manager Mary Case said, “It really makes a noticeable difference when drivers enter the parking area from the outdoors to pickup or drop off passengers.”
The IRWL enhanced crosswalk system is a series of in-pavement signal lights strung across the road along side and in front of the crosswalk lines. These signal lights are positioned towards approaching traffic.
They are designed to signal at a flash rate known at Enlighten1™. This flashing light pattern was scientifically designed to capture and hold the driver’s attention, clearly defining the pedestrian occupied crosswalk zone
Adjacent LED enhanced pedestrian crossing signs are positioned at the parking area entrance. They are synchronized to flash at the same flash rate and in conjunction with the enhanced crosswalk system.
Airport authorities are especially pleased with the ease and efficiency of the automatic activation bollards. The traveler simply walks through a pair of bollards at the entrance of the crosswalk zone, thereby breaking infrared light beams and activating the Smart Crosswalk™ system.
These internally LED lit, attractive looking white colored bollards are visible day and night. They create an invitation as the “gateway” to the crosswalk zone.
Hobby Airport is the second airport in Texas to install a Smart Crosswalk™ system. The other location has been in place since 2004 and is located at the Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport.
Further information on LightGuard Systems® products may be obtained at www.crosswalks.com.

Manufacturer of In-Roadway Warning Light (IRWL) systems for enhanced crosswalk safety. IRWL systems provide 24/7 pedestrian safe guard, they are an ideal traffic calming measure. Illuminated pedestrian crosswalks are especially effective during peak danger times of twilight and evening hours to pedestrians.
LightGuard Systems invented the IRWL enhanced crosswalk system for pedestrian crosswalk safety over 14 years ago. In May of 2002, LightGuard Systems Inc. received a U.S. Utility Patent for IRWL enhanced crosswalk system.
Currently there are over 2,000 IRWL crosswalk systems locations across the nation, in every type of climate.
FHWA MUTCD Standard - After many years of independent nationwide testing and as a direct result of LightGuard Systems efforts, the adoption of IRWL crosswalk systems as a standard traffic calming measure was incorporated into the FHWA MUTCD. This manual is considered the “Bible” for traffic engineers around the country.

Protests Over Motorcycle Parking Tax Continue One Year On

PRLog (Press Release) – Sep 16, 2009 – Over a year after Cllr. Danny Chalkley confidently told fellow Councillors that opposition to his charging scheme for two wheeled vehicles would be short lived, the No To Bike Parking Tax Campaign is gearing up for another rally in the central London borough.
Demonstrators will be descending en masse on the Councillor’s electoral ward to encourage potential voters to examine his record more closely, including the shambles over the CCTV system, the ongoing chaos in his department with regard to it’s motorcycle policy, and the behaviour of the councillor in response to massive and ongoing dissent over the charges.
Warren Djanogly, Chairman of the Campaign, said:
“It is an endemic problem in this country that too many citizens, at local elections, where media coverage of the individuals standing is scant at best, tend to vote by Political Party affiliation as opposed to selecting the right individual for the job. And quite clearly, Danny Chalkley's track record more tha suggests that he is not right for the position of Councillor in any capacity. What is important is that residents realise what sort of man they elected last time round. This is not a party political act, we are not telling anyone which party to vote for, we are simply saying ‘DON’T VOTE FOR DANNY CHALKLEY’”.
The run-up to this demonstration has been marked by yet more failures in the controversial pay-by-phone system run by Verrus UK Ltd. Bikers who purchased annual permits have in many cases not received the ‘reminder to renew’ that they were promised (via email or text) and as a result are being issued with penalty notices, which they then have to appeal.
Charlie Lort-Phillips, of the NTBPT Campaign, said:
“One year on and we are still here, with Chalkley continuing to rake in cash from the one form of transport that should be actively encouraged in this city. Also still with us, regrettably, is the shambolic system run by Verrus which is now leading to hundreds of motorcyclists being ticketed simply because this pathetic excuse for a department cannot get it’s house in order.”
Cllr Chalkley has come under renewed fire over his attempt to appease bikers with free spaces in council run car parks, after it emerged that two of these are now being privatised with no guarantee of continued free spaces, and more could well be in the pipeline. Campaigners have responded angrily to what they see as a shallow attempt to circumvent earlier concessions, and have vowed to bring down the charge with renewed vigour.
Warren Djanogly stated:
“For those who have backed this campaign over the past year, those who have seen how the councillors have tried to play the system, those who have seen the arrogance, ineptitude, double-dealing, dirty tricks, greed and short sightedness of the instigators of this tax on mobility, nothing less than the total destruction of this scheme will now suffice. Chalkley has treated bikers in the same way he treats his electorate - with utter contempt, and as a result we are more determined than ever.”
The next demonstration is on the 30th September, leaving Golden Square at 1815 and visiting the Vincent Square Ward in Westminster.

Jet Airways Feared of PSU

PRLog (Press Release) – Sep 15, 2009 – A steep oil price hike in September 1973 - potentially causing state-owned carrier Air India's fuel bill to go up by almost Rs 40 crore (Rs 400 million) annually - caused the management to sit up and put a magnifying glass on aircraft, crew cost and utilisation numbers.
The national carrier, led by then managing director K K Unny, concluded after that exercise that a new "slip" system of pilot and crew allocation was called for. This would save around Rs 80 lakh (Rs 8 million) of foreign exchange annually on two routes, India-Japan and India-London and, of course, cut back on costs. It also meant pilots would work 55 hours a week, as compared to 45 hours. The unions were consulted.
The Indian Pilots Guild, to which Air India union pilots were affiliated, protested saying the new system was being thrust down their throats without consultation. Air India brass hit back saying consultation did not mean that they were obliged to seek concurrence. Particularly in matters like crew scheduling which were management functions.
The Guild then sought the "intervention" of Air India chairman JRD Tata. To the IPG's surprise, Mr Tata in a letter in July 1974* was categorical the Guild had no right to interpret a consultative process as one wherein their concurrence was being sought.
He went on to say that any such concurrence could give the IPG the right to veto any matter on which consultation took place, even where the matter under discussion was clearly within the management's purview.
The pilots struck work. And finally lost a court battle. Captain D S Mathur, the general secretary of the Guild, was dismissed from his job. It's another story that Captain Mathur eventually got back his position and went on to become, in a move that is now Air India legend, the airline's managing director. For the last few years, he has been again in the news - for opposing a new airport project at Mandwa, Navi Mumbai .
The general feeling within Air India (or for that matter outside) is that the 1974 strike marked the beginning of the airline's decline. Scores of strikes followed over several years.
While the monetary damage caused by each strike, amongst the several unions, may be difficult to compound, the intangible damage was even larger. The company began fragmenting. Most employees lost the affection and interest in the brand and the shared sense of purpose.
Jet Airways  executive director Saroj Dutta must have had that sinking feeling when he first confronted the prospect of a union in his airline. He should know. He worked with Air India in the years when the rot began to set in. Or for that matter, the Jet Head of Operations, Captain V Mohan, who I previously encountered when he was piloting an Air India Boeing 747 from Mumbai to London .
Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal must have been advised similarly. Break the union before it forms or you could well go the Air India way. And Goyal, from all that I have gathered, wants a closely knit organisation but not one where employees start fanning out to do their own thing. The unions saw it differently.
They say they are equally committed to the airline's future and success. They were being penalised only because they said they wanted to form a union. And they did not have a single demand, monetary or otherwise.
The Air India example, at least my limited reading of it, suggests that unions rarely have had flamboyant demands in terms of compensation or so on. The biggest conflagrations appear to have erupted over the issue of control and autonomy.
As I gathered from speaking with the protagonists in the Jet drama too, both sides wanted a say in how things were run. Except that one was management and the other not.
Which is a fundamental issue the airline industry is grappling with since 1931 or thereabouts, when America's Air Line Pilots Association or ALPA was formed - that running an airline is not like running any other business, even in the services sector. I couldn't imagine the chefs of a top hotel chain not turning up for work or not firing up the ovens.
Old Air India hands tell me that Jet should have stood its ground because the union guys would have cracked in a few more days. But Jet is neither in a financial nor strategic position to do that.
Just one day of no service and the other airlines jumped in with an alacrity that I have never seen in India's services industry (except maybe at the taxi stand outside Mumbai's Dadar station).
Jet Airways is not the only airline to be faced with such a dilemma. American no-frills carrier JetBlue in February fought off an effort by pilots to form a union. Here's the catch.
While the management continued to oppose it in its stance and word, it let the vote decide. The Pilots Association had to get a 50 per cent vote in favour of launching a union. Only 33 per cent signed up, or 646 of 1,937 from the reports I read.
Let me end with another quote: "I earnestly appeal to you and your colleagues not to precipitate a situation which will cause serious loss of revenue and foreign exchange at this critical time when it can least afford it and also cause great inconvenience to hundreds of passengers and hardship to thousands of the Corporation's employees, in addition to your own members."

For 2010, the Range Rover gets a variety of upgrades aimed at improving the driving experience: both available engines have an extra dose of horsepower, the interior is even more luxurious, and the level of technology, both inside the cabin and under the skin, is more impressive than ever.
We'll forgive you if your eyes can't detect the slight changes in appearance from a distance. In addition to a revised grille,LEDs around the headlamps and taillamps, and slightly different side gills with LEDs that function as turn indicators, the fog lights move from the front bumper down to the sides of the air intake. The current Range Rover has aged quite well, so only minor changes seem appropriate.
For 2010, all Land Rover models get the new direct-injection 5.0-liter V-8. Horsepower is up 75, to 375 hp, and torque is at 375 lb-ft -- both figures represent big upgrades over the aging 4.2-liter V-8, which sometimes struggled to move vehicles as big and heavy as a Land Rover. Supercharged models share the 5.0-liter block but also get an intercooled sixth-generation Eaton blower that pushes power to 510 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque. The whole supercharger/intercooler assembly fits nicely in the valley of the engine, the revised air intake is more efficient, and supercharger whine has been reduced by more than 50%.
Both engines are mated to a ZF six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The increase in power from the 5.0-liter engines allows the torque converter to lock up earlier, which increases fuel efficiency. An adaptive sport mode provides more aggressive shift points and "learns" an individual driver's style to provide more appropriate responses to throttle inputs.
Half the reason to consider purchasing a Land Rover is its proven off-road prowess. For 2010, the Range Rover receives some significant improvements in this area. Land Rover's Terrain Response system now includes a launch control program for starting the SUV in sand. In this mode, wheel spin is limited, based on the vehicle's speed, to turn power into forward motion rather than digging a trench. Revisions to rock crawling mode and hill descent control also promise an easier time on the trail. Gradient release control is another new feature that prevents the vehicle from gathering speed too quickly once the brakes are released on a steep slope.
To improve the on-road ride of the Range Rover, adaptive dampers are now used. Pressure at each damper is monitored 500 times per second to allow for instantaneous adjustment of the individual damper's firmness. Like the transmission, the damper system "learns" the driver's style, so responses will be more appropriate for a given situation.
Brake upgrades are also part of the 2010 refresh. Non-supercharged models now have 14.2-inch vented discs with four-piston floating calipers in the front and 13.8-inch vented discs with single-piston aluminum floating calipers in the rear. Supercharged models see 15.0-inch vented discs with six-piston monoblock calipers up front and 14.3-inch vented rotors with single-piston floating calipers out back.
Upgrades to the stability control system allow brakes to be applied to individual wheels if the system determines that the vehicle is taking a corner too quickly. A new rollover prevention system uses a similar strategy to rapidly brake individual wheels in an effort to widen the turning radius and keep the SUV on all four tires. The stability control improvements also offer a trailer sway control system: if the vehicle senses dangerous trailer sway, individual wheels are slowed to bring the rig back in line.
The Range Rover has been at the top of the luxury SUV mountain for a long time, and this year's interior upgrades promise to keep it there for the foreseeable future. If you have any doubt, just look at the optional full-leather interior package and the upgraded "waterfall" interior lighting system.
Drivers will notice an all-new electronic instrument panel with a twelve-inch TFT display. The display can be customized to show specific information between the speedometer and tachometer via a five-way controller mounted on the steering wheel. Everything from outside temperature to wheel articulation can be displayed there.
An upgraded infotainment interface promises more intuitive operations, with many functions able to be controlled by voice commands, and a hard-drive-based navigation system now offers faster route calculation along with better map coverage.
Land Rovers have always been full of technology, and the new Range Rover does not disappoint. The most useful technologies are the available blind spot monitoring system and the 360-degree view cameras, similar to those in the considerably smaller Infiniti EX35. In towing assist mode, the camera system even provides guidelines to help determine where the trailer will be while backing up based on several user-entered data points such type of trailer, width, and number of axles.
Other notable electronic assistance systems are adaptive cruise control, emergency brake assistance, and automatic high beam headlamps. The adaptive cruise control system has four settings for following distance that range from 1 to 2.2 seconds of open road between you and the vehicle ahead. The system defaults to 1.8 seconds, which equals about 164 feet at 62 mph. Emergency brake assist uses the same radar as the ACC system and can automatically apply the brakes if a collision is imminent. High beam assist will switch on the brights when the vehicle detects low light levels and then switch back to low beams when traffic approaches.
Perhaps the most important part of all these electrical gadgets is the all-new electrical architecture. The combination of Controller Area Network and Media Oriented Transit System should share data across the vehicle's systems and save weight, with a side benefit of improved reliability, according to Land Rover. We suppose it will take a while to support the claim of a more reliable electrical system, but we hope it's not hyperbole.
Once you slip behind the wheel, the 2010 Range Rover's increased power is most impressive. Normally aspirated vehicles are nearly as fast as the outgoing supercharged models and the new supercharged engine is almost frighteningly quick. We've been told to expect 0-to-60-mph sprints in 5.9 seconds and that time doesn't feel optimistic. The shift time has been cut in half when compared with the outgoing six-speed automatic, which also helps with acceleration. When sport mode is dialed in, the shifts are nearly perfect and passing is effortless, even on normally aspirated SUVs.
The predictive dampers were especially impressive during a bout of spirited driving -- the Range Rover is far from a sports car, but it offers remarkably flat cornering and very predictable handling when hustling through back roads that would better suit a Jaguar XF. Throttle tip-in is a bit stiff, but that's more of a characteristic than a problem. We found the variable ratio steering to be quite predictable and it feels surprisingly natural.

Top 5 Reasons to Use a Logistics Executive Recruiter for Your Employment Needs

PRLog (Press Release) – Sep 08, 2009 – Both Hiring Managers and Job Seekers alike can benefit greatly from the use of a professional Supply Chain Recruitment Firm.
Top 5 Reasons for Using a Specialized, Logistics Executive Recruiter:
1)  Being able to focus on tasks at hand.  Both employers and employees have many responsibilities already in place that need to be met and upheld.  Hiring Managers need to stay focused on day to day operations of their businesses and Job Seekers need to focus on their current jobs so they don’t lose any pay while seeking better placement.  For more on Logistics Recruitment, please visit http://www.psrfirm.com/
2)  Being able to save money.  Those seeking to hire for Manufacturing Jobs or Operations Management understand that is takes money to place advertisements, review resumes, and screen candidates.  Those seeking employment for Warehouse Distribution Jobs know every interview that leads to a dead end is time away from work, which could equal days off without pay.
3)  Being able to save time.  Employers looking to fill positions are usually challenged with all the time and manpower it takes to fill just one position.  Human Resources usually covers this task; but it also requires help from assistants and upper management.  This takes valuable time away from other projects and usually ends up in a great deal of lost productivity.  For those seeking employment, it either takes a great amount of time away from a current job or it takes a great amount of time away from your family and other obligations dealt with on your own personal time, as now you are pounding the streets instead of being with your family or friends.
4) Having access to a targeted database of potential employers and employees.  Why search through haystacks for needles when you can utilize an effective, targeted database, through your professional Executive Recruiter that will prevent much wasted time and money spent conducting interviews or being interviewed only to find out this is not the right employee or the right position...
5)  Dealing with a “one stop shop” that takes care of all of the details for you.  A successful Hiring Manager will take the time necessary to discuss, in detail, the requirements of the open position and partner with the Executive Recruiter in the recruiting process.  A serious Job Seeker will take the time necessary to detail all skills, salary requirements, availability, etc. so that a proper match can be made, usually the first time.  And neither has to worry about breach of confidentiality or any type of security being at risk.
When both sides of the employment coin take the necessary time upfront with the
Executive Recruiter, both will stay on track, both will save money, both will save time, both will be effective with their search, and both will normally only have to do this once.  For more information, please visit us at http://www.psrfirm.com/
When working with the proper fit Executive Recruiter that specializes in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, rest assured that both the Hiring Manager and the Job Seeker will get needs fulfilled and expectations met as the Recruiter will work feverishly to ensure a good match is made for both by using all the information provided by both parties.  Logistics Careers are one of a kind.
Let a professional Executive Recruiter who specializes in this field help you.  Contact Premier Search and Recruiting today:  http://www.psrfirm.com/

BRS Finds Hidden Dollars in RFID

PRLog (Press Release) – Sep 03, 2009 – BRS President, Paul Reed, has been in the asset tracking and barcode industry for over 20 years.  Due to his knowledge and experience with RFID and his involvement in the Nashville Chambers Group, Reed was invited to write an article on the benefits of RFID technology.
Reed, as several other business owners, has been successfully fighting and triumphing over this economy.  One solution he talks about is RFID.  He emphasizes that the "hidden dollars don't require pink slips" but instead one can use an automated and time saving manner for monitoring your inventory.
As technology so often does, RFID has advanced AND gone down in price at the same time.  Reed stresses that in this economy, it's critical that you are able to easily identify where you are spending dollars. And if your money is spent wasting time tracking all your inventory, RFID is the solution.  It's a relief to hear that in this economy, RFID is easy to use and easy on the pocket book as Reed points out.
Remember, by automating both your inventory and personnel, you will save more than just hidden dollars; you'll save those pink slips as well.  So thank goodness for technology and for fellow business professional's advice.

Gibson Wheels Releases Their Lightest, Independently-Tested Road Race Wheel

PRLog (Press Release) – Sep 02, 2009 – Known industry-wide for their light-weight Pro Stock, Funny Car, and Top Fuel, SFI-approved racing wheels, Gibson Wheels has applied their unique engineering and manufacturing expertise to their new line of road race wheels.  The result is a reduction in un-sprung weight and rotating mass while increasing wheel size and strength.  The key benefit of this new design is quicker vehicle response to the driver’s steering, throttle, and braking inputs, as well as a quicker responding suspension, which results in a more persistent tire-to-road contact patch for greater agility and lower lap times.
“Decreasing a vehicle’s un-sprung weight and rotational moment of inertia, and increasing a tire’s contact patch are two very effective methods of improving performance,” said CEO Tim Gibson.  “Our wheel installations are typically larger than stock and designed to accept wider tires, yet they frequently weigh over 25% less.  This reduction in un-sprung weight and rotating mass alone results in dramatic performance improvements.  Add a wider, lower-profile tire, with a larger contact patch, and you will significantly improve overall performance and reduce your lap times at the track.”
The latest wheels from Gibson employ the newest technology in design, advanced precision CNC machining, and uncompromising material quality.  The purity of the design has resulted in a beautiful wheel with excellent weight-savings, additional strength, safety, and exacting fitment.  The three-piece construction allows the use of multiple types of aluminum alloys, with options in titanium and magnesium alloy for an even lighter setup.  A well-known, independent automotive test lab was used for the critical cornering-fatigue test.  Gibson’s wheels passed the test using specifications well beyond those required by the SAE and TUV, two organizations that set automotive test standards in the USA and Germany, respectively.
Amateur and professional drivers constantly seek ways to shave seconds, tenths, and hundredths of seconds by improving their vehicle’s acceleration, top speed, deceleration, and cornering.  Weight reductions, particularly in un-sprung weight and rotating mass, or improvements to the contact patch formed between the tire and the road’s surface, enhance the vehicle’s overall agility, resulting in cumulative time reductions.  Gibson Wheels facilitates both of these types of improvements.
Gibson Wheels products are available to OEM customers, race teams, distributors, retail dealers, and car owners.  Gibson Wheels is currently manufacturing wheel sets for the Porsche 911, Ferrari, BMW, Corvettes, and others.  Please contact Gibson Wheels to add your vehicle to the wheel development list.  Additional information is available at the website.

With a background in aerospace structures and aerodynamics, and having held engineering positions with professional race teams such as Joe Gibbs Racing, John Force Racing, and Dan Gurney’s All American Racers, Tim Gibson is uniquely qualified to produce wheels for road racers and dragsters. Look for developments in other wheel applications in the future.
